What will the music industry look like in the future?
Today you can make studio quality music in your bedroom; you can leverage the power of the Internet to distribute it around the world for free. Social networks can help you reach out to millions of people to tell them who you are and what you sound like.
While no one can say for sure what the music industry of the future will look like, two things remain certain: it will be the musicians and the fans who decide where we go next. From now on, also D:U:M will be there to help every step of the way.
So back in its 8th year, D:U:M is now launching its new international platform, providing opportunities to reach out to new audiences: submissions can begin to the official website, www.diesel-u-music.com.
Starting from 2008 Diesel will let fans and users tell us who is making the best music. There’s no more juries, no more predefined genres, no more losers, no more competition….but if it’s none of these things, then what is it?
A strong and vibrant community from around the world: a real support network for musicians aimed at discovering and sustaining breaking artists. The D:U:M community will provide the artists with the opportunity to organise tours and gigs in some of the best venues of the world, offer information on how to establish a music career without getting overrun, tools to ‘get out there!’ and shorten the distance to the music industry. The strongest ones will have the chance take part in the biggest, wildest parties and perform alongside some of the leading living artists today…Stay tuned!
