In order to demonstrate, on a smaller scale, what a day at the Red Bull Music Academy looks like, there will be interview sessions and workshops with top-class artists at springeight.
In line with the 10th anniversary of the Academy, this year we invite guests onto the sofa who are considered living legends of their guild.
Robert “The Voice of House-Music“ Owens will talk about Chicago-myths and his new album “Night Time Stories” (Compost).
Juan Atkins talks about the founding days and the status quo of Techno, while Arabian Prince and Egyptian Lover reveal why old-school Electro is still so darn sexy and why they absolutely wanted to look like Prince in their youth.

All sessions are taking place in Stadtmuseum Graz free of admission from 4pm.
Apart from the Lectures at Stadtmuseum, the Red Bull Music Academy will also host a 3 day audio workshop for inspiring musicians and producers. Showing the way around the knobs of Reason and the kick of the TR-808 will be old school legend and founding member of N.W.A, Arabian Prince aka Professor X.
Arabian Prince should be driving big cars like his childhood friends Dr.Dre and Ice Cube. Well, he does, but not quite as big. When those kids came together as N.W.A (Niggaz with Attitide) to release their debut “Straight outta Compton” in 1988, it was a kick in the face of the conservative establishment: the kids loved tracks like “FBI (F**k the Police)” while Tipper Gore put a huge “Parantal Advisory” sticker on their records.
He soon left N.W.A to focus on his own productions. Today he is running a 3D Animation Studio, releases tracks on Clone under his “Professor X” moniker and is also involved in some other beats and pieces.
